Wine Tours

Ankhura is only a stone's throw away from Montalcino, home to the famous Brunello. We are happy to arrange tastings and vineyard visits for guests with the help of our wine producer friends. You will get a chance to see how and where the grapes grow, how the wine is produced and how it is aged. You will taste and discuss the wines with the proprietors of the vineyard.

Walks

Go for a walk around our village of Monterongriffoli and experience the beauty of this extraordinary landscape. Numerous trails from Monterongriffoli take you past cypresses, umbrella pines, olive groves, vineyards, farms, wheat fields and truffle reserves. You are sure to see pheasant, deer, porcupine or even wild boar.

Horse Riding

Spend a morning or afternoon with us touring the UNESCO World Heritage landscape of the Val D'Orcia. Let us know what your previous riding experience is and we will tailor a tour especially for you - anything from one hour to half a day.

Beautiful Toscana

Whatever has brought you to Tuscany, Ankhura makes an excellent starting point for exploring this wonderful part of the world.

Enjoy a leisurely drive, taking the gravel roads that snake past nodding sheep in their pastures. Visit some of the local farms and savour the pecorino cheese, chestnut honey and wines directly from the makers.

Our area of Tuscany produces some of the best wine and olive oil in the world, and olive groves and vines are as common a sight as fields of wheat and sunflowers.

Surroundings

San Giovanni D’Asso, our closest neighbour, is the truffle capital of Tuscany and holds festivals three times a year to celebrate the white, black and spring white truffles. The most exciting is of course the white truffle festival in November.
